Packaged MBR Sewage treatment system with 1,000 m³/day in Britain
UK 1,000 m³/day MBR Plant – Delivered 40 % Faster Than Stick-Build
A greenfield housing expansion in the Midlands needed a sewage works that could hit the EA’s new 5 mg/L BOD, 3 mg/L NH₄-N and 1 mg/L P limits—yet be live before the first occupancy certificate. Our containerised MBR package met the deadline and the discharge consent on day one.
What we supplied:
1.4-stage bioreactor (anaerobic, anoxic, aeration, post-anoxic) with inline alum dosing; achieves < 0.5 mg/L TP without tertiary filters.
4.variable-speed rotary lobe blowers + dissolved-oxygen control loop cut aeration energy 25 % below Ofwat baseline.
5.cloud SCADA (HTTPS, MQTT) feeds live flow, permeate turbidity and energy data to the water company’s OSIsoft PI; remote OEM access for membrane health analytics.
6.30-hour site schedule: lift on pre-cast pads, connect 3 pipes, 1 power gland, 1 data cable—zero site welding, zero concrete pour, zero EA variations.
Performance verified by UKAS lab:
• BOD₅ ≤ 3 mg/L
• NH₄-N ≤ 0.3 mg/L
• TP ≤ 0.5 mg/L
• TSS ≤ 1 mg/L (permeate)
• Log-reduction ≥ 5 for faecal coliforms
Footprint: 165 m² – 70 % smaller than conventional ASP + clarifier + tertiary. Energy: 0.48 kWh/m³ at design flow, 0.35 kWh/m³ at diurnal low. CAPEX: 30 % below local stick-build bids; OPEX locked to Ofwat CPIH – 1 %. Delivery: 12 weeks ex-works, 2 weeks on-site, 48-hour commissioning to EA sign-off.
Our UK-spec MBR turns municipal sewage into river-quality effluent—faster, quieter, and fully future-proofed for phosphorus and PFAS upgrades.
