Description:
The workflow of a multi-media filter is divided into three stages: filtration, backwashing, and backwashing, forming a cyclic operation mode.
1. Filtering stage. The raw water flows through a multi-layer filter material composed of anthracite, quartz sand, and activated carbon from top to bottom, sequentially intercepting large suspended particles, adsorbing small particles, and soluble organic matter, achieving gradient purification. When the operating pressure difference reaches the set value, the system automatically enters backwashing
2. Backwash stage: First, use compressed air (5-8L/s · m ²) to expand and rub the filter layer to remove dirt, then rinse the filter material with high-speed water flow and discharge for 10-15 minutes. 3. Positive washing, rinse downstream with clean water for 5-8 minutes until the effluent turbidity is ≤ 0.5NTU, completing the regeneration of the filter layer. The entire process is intelligently controlled by PLC to achieve a balance between efficient pollution interception and energy-saving operation.
3. Industrial water treatment Circulating cooling water system. In industries such as electricity, petrochemicals, and steel, circulating cooling water needs to continuously remove suspended solids to prevent heat exchanger blockage. Multi media filters can reduce turbidity to below 5 NTU and extend equipment lifespan.
4. Municipal water supply and sewage treatment Pre treatment of water plants. Combined with coagulation and sedimentation process, it can further reduce the turbidity of raw water and alleviate the load on subsequent sand filters. A certain water plant adopts the process of "coagulation+multi-media filtration+ultrafiltration", and the turbidity of the effluent water is less than 0.1 NTU for a long time, which meets the "Sanitary Standards for Drinking Water".
5. Special industry applications Pre treatment of seawater desalination. In reverse osmosis (RO) seawater desalination systems, multi-media filters can intercept large particulate matter such as seaweed and sediment, reducing the risk of biological contamination of RO membranes.
